Andrea Pozza is a masterful Italian bebop pianist from Genoa, widely appreciated on both sides of the Atlantic for his pianistic, chordal approach to the idiom, but without sacrificing the sense of swing or linear approach to improvisation that is characteristic of the style. He regularly plays with such US luminaries as Scott Hamilton and Steve Grossman, and has played with Clark Terry, James Moody, Johnny Griffin, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Benny Bailey, Jimmy Knepper, Sal Nistico and George Coleman, to name but a few.

He appears here on his only UK date as a leader, while on tour with US saxophonist Harry Allen. He's accompanied by his favourite British musicians to work with, Simon Woolf on double bass, himself a very experienced sideman with visiting American artists, and drummer Steve Brown, who is well liked by jazz audiences throughout the country.
